If
you are looking for information about Prefab Sprout you should also check
the Articles and
Interviews, they will give you some material to start
with. There was no official magazine for Prefab Sprout, besides a newsletter from Kitchenware devoted to all their artists. Therefore, the fans had to step in and here are the newsletters and fanzines that I am aware of: A Profile - Subtitled: "Presenting Prefab Sprout - up to April 1990". Taken from the scrapbook of John Birch with contributions by Jane Parr and Nicola Wray. Sproutwise - Created by fan Paul Dixon from Durham, it has also contributions from many other fans. There were - at least - four issues, from 1991 to 1992. Prefab Sprout E-Mail Newsletter - A newsletter administered by Ryan Bassler, from 1995 to 1999, their contents are available at Zorrophonic's mailing list at Yahoo Groups. Rollmo! - This popular fanzine was created by John Birch, who also wrote the only book about the Sprouts, with contributions from Stewart Gregg and other fans too. As far as I know, there were 17 printed issues, where the last two, # 16 and # 17 contained a bonus cd and from there, there were only cd releases with demos, interviews, live recordings. A list of them and their track listings are located in CD Fanzines. I have some of these materials and will start posting some of them here. My plan is to have at least one page on each fanzine and from then, maybe one for each issue that I can have my hands on. Here
are excerpts from Rollmo! fanzine: |
